Marshall content with top 10 upon return to the Lites in Super X

Coastal KTM's Robbie Marshall scored a top 10 in the opening round of Super X.

Advanti Motorex Coastal KTM’s Robbie Marshall is content with his 10th position overall at Melbourne’s Monster Energy Super X season opener, returning to the Pro Lites class aboard the 250 SX-F.

Marshall scored a direct transfer with ninth in his heat, before battling to 13th in the first final of the night. The Queensland all-rounder finished the Double Header main event off with a solid ninth in the second final, boosting him to 10th overall for the round.

“The first round was a real let down with the weather, but to be in the top 10 after the event I can now focus on the rest of the series and hope for some dry conditions heading into round two,” Marshall said.

“My night started off with a small hiccup in practice and another rider landed on my bike and bent it pretty good. I still managed to qualify fifth and had a good gate pick for the race.

“The track got worse and worse through the night with more rain right before racing started. I struggled a little in the mud and was just happy to get some points and finish both races.”

Now a relative veteran of the Pro Lites field, Marshall is certain he still has what it takes to do battle with some of Australia’s fastest rising stars.

“I’ve been feeling great on my bike at home and putting in the effort, so I know I can run up the front,” he added. “With good conditions it will show the true front runners, so that’s what I’m really looking forward to.”

Marshall raced the Pro Open category during the MX Nationals, switching between the 350 SX-F and 450 SX-F during the season before opting to contest the Lites in Super X.
