Cam Sinclair will make the transition to a Yamaha YZ450F this weekend at the Monster Energy Cup, set to complete his first double backflip aboard the four-stroke on Saturday evening.
The event, held in Las Vegas with $40,000 cash on the line, will see the Victorian vying for Best Trick honours on the 450 after recently testing one of Jay Marmont’s Australian Motocross Championship-winning bikes.
“I’m really enjoying my riding at the moment, so when the opportunity came up to head to Vegas and try to win this event, I couldn’t help myself,” Sinclair said.
“Dacka [Craig Dack] was good enough to lend me one of Jay’s bikes to have a ride on and straight away I felt comfortable on it. For double flips especially, the engine has so much torque that it just drives off the ramp and seems to help the bike spin more smoothly.
“Already every one that I’ve done into the foam pit has been perfect – I’m looking forward to getting to Vegas and hopefully all goes well.”
