Motocross competitors will have the unique opportunity to compete at the world famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit later this year alongside the QBE Australian Superbike Championship.
Thumpercross events are to be revived on 18-20 November, held in conjunction with round eight of the QBE ASBK series.
The natural terrain grass track on the infield between turns eight and 12 will host a variety of Thumpercross classes featuring all levels of age and experience – Pro, Expert, Clubman, Vets, Womens and Juniors categories are all included.
The Thumper discipline has been revived by IEG managing director Yarrive Konsky, who is also the team owner of Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing.
“Thumpercross is a natural fit at Phillip Island and will be a great addition to our road race classes at what is shaping up the be a big final round,” said Konsky.
“This is a great chance for the on and off-road disciplines to combine and for all riders to have the chance to compete at such a renowned international circuit.”
