Tasmanian teenager Matt Phillips has confirmed that his form in the recent International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) has sparked interest from a number of Enduro World Championship teams.
The Ballard’s Yamaha rider stunned with numerous special test victories Outright in the ISDE before finishing fifth in E2 and ninth Outright.
However, the 18-year-old was in an E2 podium position and running inside the top five Outright until a time penalty dashed his overall hopes entering day six.
“It was a good opportunity to go over there and prove myself,” Phillips told MotoOnline. “I met a lot of good people over there and also some potential sponsors.
“I’ve been talking about going over next year. I’m not sure where that’s going to take me, but I’ve had a fair few teams talk to me.
“It’s just a matter of whether I take the plunge and go over, or if I wait another year and learn how to cook and clean for myself before I go [laughs]!”
Phillips won last weekend’s rounds of the Yamaha Australian Off Road Championship at Callington in South Australia, sweeping rounds five and six in both the E3 and Outright categories.
