Victorian Ross Beaton is looking to return to the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals full time in 2012.
The 20-year-old took time out from national championship racing this season after finishing second in the Under 19s last year, limiting his racing to a state level in Victoria.
Beaton has enjoyed a strong season aboard a Yamaha YZ450F in the Pro Open class of the Victorian Motocross Championship, sealing second behind multi-time national champion Cameron Taylor.
“I really want to get back into racing a lot more professionally,” Beaton revealed. “I have a good job at the moment, but I am willing to sacrifice what I have now to get my foot back in the door, and try and get some good results.
“I honestly think if I was fit enough, and if I put in the time and effort that I know I need to put in now, because I have been away from racing. I’ve got a work ethic now, and I know what it takes to be at that top level.
“I really want to get back into achieving top five results at every round of the MX Nationals. I’d love to come back and race but it is just a matter if I can get the right support out of Yamaha or anyone else to help me achieve my dream.”
Beaton raced in the Wodonga round of the MX Nationals this season, racing to 11th overall in the Open class with a best race result of eighth in moto one.
