It was another amazing day for Australia at the 2011 International Six Day Enduro, with star Toby Price and overnight sensation Matthew Phillips going one-two in day three action in Finland.

Price returned to form in emphatic fashion after his disappointing eighth on day two, producing his best performance of the event to claim Australia’s first day victory and help propel the team up to seventh in the World Trophy standings.

Phillips continued his amazing debut on the ISDE stage, recording his third consecutive top-three finish and further strengthen his grip on the coveted podium position.

While the podiums did not change their overall standings the pair have moved closer to improving their positions with Price slashing the time between himself and fourth-placed Luis Correia by more than half, while Phillips moved within four seconds of Cristobal Guerrero in second.

It was podiums all round for Australia, with Jemma Wilson producing a stunning day’s work to finish second in the Women’s class and move team of Wilson, Jess Gardiner (7th) and Alison Parker (9th) on the podium in the Women’s Cup standings.

The talented Wilson has been in red hot form over the past two days, recovering from her 11th place finish on the opening day to take the lead of the Aussie team.

It was tough going for the Aussie World Trophy team, with Kirk Hutton out of action and Glenn Kearney still feeling the effects of his day two struggles it was left to the likes of Daniel Milner (15th in E2 class), and Geoff Braico (16th in E3) to help move the team within striking distance of Sweden and Portugal.

The Junior Trophy team also found day three testing, slipping from fourth to fifth as the young guns looked to consolidate their positions. Mitchell Bowen (18th) and Scott Keegan (22nd) did their bit in the E3 class, while Mitch Harper continued his improvement in the E2 class, finishing 22nd for the day.

Among the other Aussies in action on day three Nathan Castle returned to the top 10 in the C2 class, while Scott Campbell (33rd) and Riccardo Braico (40th) slid fractionally and Steven Braico (34th in C3) improved.
