World champion Antonio Cairoli has been adjusting his riding style in recent races.

Multiple-time Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli has admitted he’s been changing his riding style in a bid to fend off the rising stars of the MX1 series in 2011.

The Red Bull KTM rider currently leads the world championship aboard the 350 SX-F, however he’s come under increasing pressure from the likes of Clement Desalle, Steven Frossard and German GP winner Eugene Bobryshev this season.

Cairoli finished with 2-2 results in Germany at Teutschenthal, tangling with Bobryshev in the last corner of the final moto on Sunday.

“I am working on changing my riding style and I have to try to be a bit more focused on the first 15-20 minutes,” the Italian revealed.

“I’m trying to be a bit more aggressive. But its getting better and I’m happy about my riding.”

Cairoli raced with a special Pit Beirer Replica Helmet as a mark of respect for the head of KTM Motorsports over the weekend.

In the world championship, Cairoli now enjoys an 18-point advantage over Desalle.
