Former Pro Lites Australian Motocross Champion Jake Moss says the time has come for him to start winning rounds in the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals.
Moss entered the series at Appin’s second round under an injury cloud due to a shoulder injury sustained during the pre-season in Germany, but has steadily regained fitness and form as the season’s progressed.
The Serco Yoshimura Yamaha rider broke through for a podium result at Murray Bridge and again at Toowoomba, including a moto win, now counting on his form to take him to the overall victory this weekend at Coonabarabran.
“I have lucky enough to do some riding at the venue and really like the track,” Moss said, recently completing a Moss Institute school at the Goanna Tracks Complex.
“It’s big, fast and wide and should make for some great racing. I am fully fit, the bike is great and it’s time to put the Serco Yoshimura Yamaha out front.”
Twin brother Matt, who leads the series for JDR Motorex KTM, predicts that Jake will be his main opponent in the series from this point.
“I think Jake is the man to beat at the moment, so in practice as long as I have had his pace after three or four weeks off [through injury] then I should be fine coming into Coona,” Matt commented.
Jake Moss now sits 13th in the championship after five of nine rounds, continuing to climb the leaderboard despite battling injury in the early rounds.
