CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha’s Jay Marmont could make history this weekend when he shoots for a record third victory in the Manjimup 15,000 at Cosy Creek in Western Australia.

Marmont, who is the defending three-time Australian Motocross Champion, won the event in 2003 for the first time, most recently winning it in 2007.

At the moment, Marmont shares the feat of being a dual winner of the Manjimup 15,000 with team boss Craig Dack and legendary Western Australian Jeff Leisk.

It’s expected that Marmont will go head-to-head with some of Australia’s top national level contenders, as well as a host of WA’s best sand specialists.

International riders this year include Bryan Mackenzie, Bryce Vallee, Jamie Law and MX Nationals regular Michael Phillips.

The Manjimup 15,000 has established itself as one of Australia’s richest and most prestigious outdoor motocross competitions.

It was way back 31 years ago that the first ‘15,000’ was run at the Cosy Creek track, which has also played host to the Motocross des Nations and a Motocross World Championship round over the years.
