Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Brett Metcalfe has been at Milestone Raceway today testing in between rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross championship.
After sitting out the majority of the supercross series, the runner up in last year’s outdoor championship has had a fairly strong start to the season with fifth and fourth overall finishes for the first two rounds.
“My speed is close but it’s not been there consistently for the whole moto,” said Metcalfe.
“Before I can start to attack and look for that win i have to make some more baby steps to get up the front there.”
Metty was at Milestone looking for that extra something from his bike setup, trying to get back to his late 2010 season form that saw him become the only guy to give Ryan Dungey some real competition.
“After Freestone made a better setup, chose a couple of things that weren’t working for me in the pre season testing,” commented Metcalfe.
“As we start racing you learn a little bit more about the bike and really figured out in the second moto what i need to do, now we’re out here today working on those settings.”
The Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross series has a weekend off before heading to round three at Mt. Morris, the Rockstar Energy High Point National.
