Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing rider Cheyne Boyd has been utilising a Honda CRF250R as a training tool during the two week break in the MX Nationals schedule.

The team has currently been practicing at Coonabarabran’s Goanna Tracks Motocross Complex, which will host round six of the series, using the break to gain some valuable track time at the new circuit.

Boyd, who currently sits fifth in the Pro Open championship, feels as though riding the smaller bike may help him find that extra pace he needs to move up in the title hunt.

“I think as a team we are strong and while I’m feeling comfortable with where we are at, there are a few areas I feel I need to work on such as corner speed,” commented Boyd.

“This week I have mixed things up a bit and done some training on the CRF250.”

This weekend will see round five of the MX Nationals take place at the Echo Valley circuit in Toowoomba, where Boyd feels confident of a solid result.

“Red Clay tracks are my favourite so I am hoping Toowoomba will be a good round, I’m really looking forward to it,”
