Current Pro Lites MX Nationals series leader Matt Moss will fly out to the United States today to gain experience with the JDR Motorsports team’s California-based operation.

Moss, 22, has been in superb form in his full time return to Australia with JDR Motorex KTM this season, and he’s already eyeing a switch back to the States in 2012 with the impressive JDR/J-Star/KTM team.

“I’m just going to see the team over there because I haven’t met most of them, plus it will be good to ride some good tracks since they’re prepped every single day,” Moss told MotoOnline.

“I’ve got a car over there and an apartment. It’s easy to get over there, go ride and get fit. Hopefully I’ll come back faster and stronger.”

Last season saw Moss step straight into the 450 Class as teammate to Ryan Dungey at Rockstar Makita Suzuki on what is one of the most coveted rides in the sport, however a spell of injuries made for a difficult debut year overseas.

“All that I miss over there is the tracks. I was sort of, the team wasn’t 100 percent with me you know, but JDR are and we are one big happy family,” Moss admitted.

“I think I’ll enjoy going over there this time and I’ll enjoy going over at the end of the year.”

With many in America doubting his potential following last season’s performances, the determined Moss is on track to return with the Australian-owned JDR program and he believes he can win in the Lites with the right support behind him.

“I’ve definitely have a point to prove. I want to go over there and win, and that’s all I want to do,” he added. “I believe I can do it and the team believe I can too. That’s why they are going to send me, so we’ll see how it goes!”

Last weekend saw Moss make it three wins from three attempts to date since joining the JDR Motorex KTM team for season 2011, winning round three at Raymond Terrace on Sunday.

Moss’ 1-1-1-2 results over the weekend extended his series lead to an impressive 85 points after three of nine rounds.

Joining Moss on his latest U.S. journey today is JDR Motorsports boss Jay Rynenberg, who has been based with the AMA team for much of this year to date.
