Former Pro Lites champion Jake Moss is set to make his return from injury with Serco Yoshimura Yamaha at the Appin round of the 2011 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals next month.
Moss suffered a shoulder injury while racing a German Supercross round back in January, but yesterday returned to riding in his debut aboard the factory YZ250F and is now hoping to make the start gates come round two.
The addition of 22-year-old Moss to the Serco team alongside regulars Kirk Gibbs and Ford Dale will be a positive one for the team, reuniting Moss with the Queensland-based operation that he won the 2007 Pro Lites outdoor title with.
Since that season Moss has been based in the U.S, making his mark on various teams in both the 250 and 450 classes in the AMA, but will now return home for a season.
Moss’ shoulder injury was a devastating one this season, ruling him out of a guest ride with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team alongside Ryan Villopoto in selected AMA Supercross rounds to replace Jake Weimer, who was also injured at the start of the year.
Last weekend at Broadford’s MX Nationals season opener, Jake’s twin brother Matt won the Pro Lites in his first ride with JDR Motorex KTM.
The Appin round of the MX Nationals series will take place on 3 April in Sydney’s return to the calendar.
