New JDR Motorsports KTM signing Matt Moss has had his first ride on the Austrian bike, the former Super X and MX Nationals Lites Champion quickly settling into 2011 model 250 SX-F.
Moss has put the disappointment of missing out on last year’s Super X Lites title behind him and is focused on the upcoming Rockstar Energy MX Nationals series, debuting on a stock KTM last week and already feeling comfortable on the bike.
“Straight away I thought how fast it is, the thing is super fast and I loved it right away actually,” Moss told MotoOnline.com.au this afternoon.
“I was very impressed straight away and felt comfortable. Everyone has their thoughts on the KTMs, but I like to make my own opinion and as soon as I rode it I loved it. I’m happy, that’s for sure.
“I told myself when I was going to ride it that I want to win the championship on it, and that was definitely my first thoughts when I hopped on.”
Moss underwent surgery to his wrist following the Super X season finale in early December, taking a break over the holiday period before returning to riding last week. He says it’s a big improvement already in the early stages of his 2011 preparation.
“It’s getting there slowy, definitely feels a lot better after the surgery,” he explained. “It’s going to be a niggling injury for the rest of my life basically, but it’s 10 times better than what it was so that will help a lot this year.”
