JDR Motorsports announced today that J-Star Motors has signed on as the title sponsor of its U.S. based 2011 Supercross and Motocross team.
For 2011, JDR will be running a five-rider Australian team and a two-rider North American team, with J-Star Motors signing on to sponsor the U.S-based team supporting American rider PJ Larsen and Australia’s Tye Simmonds.
J-Star Motors is a successful high-end used car dealership in Anaheim Hills, California. J-Star Motors is comprised of a staff of motorcycle enthusiasts, and therefore, has a large Motocross racing clientele.
The owner of J-Star Motors, Jared Merrell, loves the sport of motocross and jumped at the opportunity to get involved deeper into the sport of motorcycling racing.
“I couldn’t be happier to sign on with the JDR Motorsports Team,” he commented. “I have always wanted to support a racing team and was waiting for the right opportunity.
“My long-standing relationship with team manager Nathan Ramsey and the success the team has had the past year in Australia has given me the confidence and provided the opportunity for us to come aboard as the title sponsor.
“We are incredibly thrilled with the decision to sign on with JDR and look forward to the opening round.”
Ramsey is also excited with the new partnership, looking forward to the season ahead.
“It is great to work with Jared as I have known him for over 10 years and feel incredibly comfortable having his company as our title sponsor,” Ramsey said. “J-Star is a very popular company within the Motocross industry and we feel it is a perfect fit for the direction we want to take the team. I can’t wait to get the year rolling.”
JDR Motorsports owner Jay Rynenberg added that the addition of a title sponsor is an exciting step for the team’s U.S. operation.
“Bringing J-Star Motors on board as a title sponsor is the next exciting step in JDR Motorsports transition to the U.S,” the Australian commented. “J-Star Motors is focused on their public image and so are we. It is great to know they have the faith in our team to help push the J-Star Motors brand.
“They have a nice range of trucks for Motocross riders and even high-end sports cars. We greatly appreciate them coming aboard to support our team and the motorcycle industry in these trying economic times.”
The JDR/J-Star/KTM team will make its premier at the opening round of the AMA Supercross Series on 8 January in Anaheim, California.
