Kawasaki in the United States has placed a technical hold on the all-new 2011 model Ninja ZX-10R, the manufacturer “proactively addressing a remedy which reflects Kawasaki’s commitment to excellence and its relationships with its highly valued customers and dealer network”.
In a statement released by Kawasaki in the U.S. over the weekend, it has been revealed that all “unsold units will be returned to KMC warehouses and the units will be redistributed once Kawasaki is 100 percent confident they reflect company standards”.
The release also stated that “those who have taken delivery of a unit will be instructed to return the unit to the dealership for a full refund and will be among the first to have the option of receiving a new unit once the technical hold has been lifted”.
With the bike not yet released in Australia the release has no relevance in our country according to Kawasaki Australia, however the technical hold may delay the release by “a week or two”.
It’s expected that the new ZX-10R will be released in Australia within the first couple of weeks of January.
No details of the reason for the technical hold have been released by Kawasaki in the U.S.
