Just three riders will be allowed per row in every category for 2011, like MotoGP.

The Grand Prix Commission has revealed a number of regulation revisions to be implemented for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

MotoGP will return to having four hour-long practice sessions at each and every weekend of the series, an extra hour in comparison to this season.

Despite their being additional practice time for next season, the premier class will still have a limit of six engines per rider for the season.

Moto2 will feature four 45-minute sessions, while the 125cc Grand Prix class will have two sessions of 45 minutes, plus two half-hour sessions on Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Next season will see each category feature just three riders per row on the grid, with the Moto2 and 125GP class formerly allowing four per row.

For MotoGP in 2011, GPS units will have to be provided by Dorna, which could spell a revision in the way traction control is used by the factories.

The all-new 250cc Moto3 category that will replace the 125s in 2012 will feature control ECUs – unlike the Moto2 category that uses complete control engines – and it has a variety of functions that it’s required to have including traction control (yes) and launch control, among other electronics.

The Moto3 bikes will have a rev limit of 14,500rpm, while as we previously knew, the bikes will have a maximum bore of 81mm.

Finally, tenders are being requested for control tyres, oil and fuel, similar to that in Moto2.
