Rockstar Motul Suzuki team manager Jay Foreman is proud of the team’s clean sweep of last weekend’s Sydney round of the Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, admitting that it’s winning that makes it all worthwhile.
Jake Moss and Matt Moss won the Open and Lites classes respectively in Sydney, while Lawson Bopping finished runner-up in the Lites to forge a perfect weekend for the team at Parramatta Stadium.
“This was a good weekend with a great result, which has made all the hard work worth it,” Foreman commented. “It was a huge logistical effort to get the bikes back from New Zealand and ready for tonight so I am really happy with the result.”
Matt Moss’ result in the Lites means he now has a five point advantage in the standings with one round remaining, the defending champion in the box seat for a third straight crown.
“Matt is proving what a champion he is and he has clawed back the DNF to be in the championship lead with one round to go – he knows what he needs to do in Brisbane,” Foreman added.
“For Jake, the last three weeks we have gone from third to second to a win. We knew with Jake we were always going to get better as the season went on. He now has a solid third position overall in the Open class and we are expecting a big weekend from him in Brisbane.”
Foreman was also thrilled with Bopping’s return to form, bouncing back onto the podium after tough rounds in recent weeks.
“It was great to see Lawson back in form after winning in Tasmania and then having two disappointing rounds in New Zealand,” Foreman added. “He is back to where he deserves to be – contending for race wins.”
Super X will wrap up this weekend at QSAC Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday, 4 December.
