Demolition Plus GAS Honda Racing teammates Wayne Maxwell and Josh Brookes are confident they will forge the perfect team come the Bel-Ray 6 Hour at Phillip Island on 4-5 December.
The pair will join the defending champion team for what is rising to be an iconic event, and Maxwell is eager to get things underway.
“I’m really looking forward to this event,” said Maxwell. “Josh and I are good mates and we like a similar bike, but importantly we really like the Phillip Island Circuit.
“We’ve both won there many times before and my team has prepared a bike that will be second to none.”
Current British Superbike number two Brookes will make his final appearance aboard a Honda before switching to Suzuki for 2011, and he’s enjoying the lead-up to the race weekend.
“Coming home to Australia is fantastic because training hard when it’s warm is far more enjoyable,” Brookes commented.
“Wayne is renowned as being one of the fittest guys going around and given that our races are usually 20-30 minutes, being in peak condition is really important given we have to ride about 100-plus laps each for the race.”
Demolition Plus GAS Honda Racing won The 6 Hour at Oran Park last December with Craig Coxhell, Russell Holland and Gareth Jones.
