American Josh Hansen says an extra week in Australia will make him that much stronger coming into tonight’s second round of the 2010 Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship.

The Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider finished an impressive second on debut in Super X last weekend at Newcastle, and since Chad Reed is absent from the Canberra round as expected, Hansen now becomes the top ranked current rider in the series point standings.

“Things are a lot better, I still haven’t got all my parts from America, but more or less the jet lag’s a lot better and I’ve had a good week,” the 25-year-old told MotoOnline.com.au this afternoon.

“I feel 20 times better coming into tonight. It’s just about being smart and feeling better into each week, seeing how things progress.”

Hansen qualified sixth for tonight’s round in damp conditions this afternoon at Canberra Stadium in the nation’s capital.
