Cougar Bourbon Honda Thor Racing will attack the 2010 Super X season with a three-rider lineup consisting of Daniel Reardon, Todd Waters and Kade Mosig.
The trio bring a winning mix of experience and enthusiasm to the fore and have established themselves as firm front runners on class-leading Honda racecraft.
Already a three-time Australian Supercross champion, Reardon, 24, returns home after another season battling the world’s best in AMA competition.
He finished the 2009 Super X championship as Open class runner-up and is eager to go one better on his CRF450R when the season gets underway in Newcastle this week.
“Last year I let the chance of a championship slip through my fingers,” explained Reardon. “I’m really looking forward to making up for this, starting this weekend.
“This year has been a rollercoaster ride for me with team changes and injury really slowing me down. I’ve been back in Australia for about a week now and am already feeling comfortable.
“I’ve got a great relationship with Yarrive (Konsky, team owner) and everyone within the team, I’ve worked with many of them throughout my career. This team is where I feel comfortable so it made sense that this is where I would race Super X.
“It’s awesome to be racing with Kade (Mosig) and Todd (Waters) as teammates. These guys are both very talented and really motivated to do well this season.”
Waters, from Atherton in Queensland, is aiming to come on strong in Super X competition after an up-and-down motocross season where his storming run was halted by injury.
“2010 started with a lot of promise, but it hasn’t all gone my way,” said Waters. “I felt like I was approaching my best towards the end of the motocross season and have had a lot of time to get my strength back and train for Super X.
“My goal is to give every race 100% and come away with strong points from each meeting.”
Mosig is looking forward to teaming up with a number of familiar faces having spent much of his career working with the Cougar Bourbon Honda Thor Racing management and crew.
“I’m excited to be joining up with the team again, I’ve worked with most of the guys throughout my racing career and have known Yarrive since I was on an 80cc,” said Mosig.
“I am fully committed to giving this season everything I’ve got. I’ve changed up my program significantly to prepare for this and believe I’m ready to challenge for podiums week in, week out.
“The Honda is a great race bike and to have Brad McAlpine as a mechanic is a real advantage, I firmly believe he is one of, if not the best on the Australian circuit.”
The 2010 Super X season gets underway at Newcastle this weekend, before visiting Canberra, Launceston, Auckland, Dunedin, Sydney and Brisbane for the final round.
