Aussie Troy Corser is aiming for another podium at Magny-Cours this weekend.

Australia’s Troy Corser is currently 10th in the 2010 Superbike World Championship standings, but the dual world champion is thrilled to be returning to a circuit where he has flexed some muscle in the past at Magny-Cours in France this weekend.

The Wollongong local has scored podium finishes during the season, and would love nothing more than to return to the rostrum at this year’s season finale on Sunday.

“I’ve always gone pretty well at Magny-Cours and have taken a few pole positions and podiums there down the years,” said BMW Motorrad rider Corser. “In 2005 I won my second world title at the track.

“It’s a very distinctive circuit and actually made up of three different sections. The middle section flows nicely, but at the start and end of the lap you’ve got some real stop-start corners.

“This circuit has a bit of everything, and it’s extremely tricky to find the perfect setup. You need a bike that works well over the whole circuit. Here it’s not necessarily the fastest bike that will be successful, but the one with the best handling.

“I think our bike should go well with the settings we’ve been working on. I’m looking forward to it!”

Corser will also be racing alongside teammate Ruben Xaus for the last time at Magny-Cours, with Haslam confirmed as the second BMW rider in 2011 after parting ways with Suzuki.

Broc Parkes (Kawasaki) and Mark Aitchison (Honda) will be the Australians in action, with the former impressing on his return to the class as a fill-in for the injured Joan Lascorz.
