Link International has announced a total contingency package for Pirelli riders at The 6 Hour 2010, with $10,000 available for teams who choose to race on Pirelli tyres for what is now recognised as a national Championship event.

This is in addition to prize money already offered by the promoters of the 6 Hour race at Phillip Island on 3-5 December.

Brenden Stoeckert, general manager of Link International, commented on Pirelli’s contingency package for The 6 Hour.

“We are pleased to announce this contingency arrangement for riders competing on Pirelli tyres at this year’s 6 Hour race,” Stoeckert said. “Pirelli has long and successful history of racing at The 6 Hour over many years in Australia.

“They have a philosophy of ‘we race what we sell, we sell what we race’ and we see the 6 Hour as great way to showcase the performance of Pirelli Diablo Superbike and Diablo Supercorsa racing tyres and that this WSBK developed product is available to all riders in Australia.

“Link International has a philosophy of investing back into the motorcycle industry and this event gives us another platform to do this with Pirelli motorcycle tyres.”

James Spence, promoter of The 6 Hour, also welcomed the contingency package from Pirelli.

“I’m very pleased with Pirelli and the effort they have shown for this year’s race and becoming a major part of our championship,” Spence enthused. “In the golden years the 6 Hour was a race run and won on the best tyre and bike package available and I’m confident that Pirelli will have a package that can win.”
