Australian Jarryd McNeil has confirmed he’s sit out next weekend’s Pala round of the Lucas Oils AMA Pro Motocross Championship in California after suffering a lacerated liver in a practice incident during the week.
The X Games 16 Moto X Best Whip silver medalist was scheduled to make his AMA debut next Saturday, only to be ruled out by the unfortunate injury.
“I was out training for the 12th round of the AMA outdoor nations at Pala Raceway in California,” McNeil explained. “I was on the first lap of my 30-minute moto when I came over a jump clicked fourth and started to head up an uphill straight. I was going pretty fast at this point and then out of know where my bike stepped out and cart wheeled up the hill.
“I left my bike and by the end of the crash I had landed, sliding around 30-feet from my bike. I couldn’t breathe at all for over a minute. I got my breath back and worked out my body was not in any shape to move so I was taken to the hospital and had a cat scan only to find out that I had lacerated my liver.
“A massive thank you to everyone for their support, especially those who have come in to see me and everyone who sent get well messages.”
