Motorcycling Victoria has announced that Patrick Fletcher, manager of the State Motorcycle Sports Complex, will be retiring from his position on 2 November.
The decision from Fletcher has come after 10 years of service at the Broadford venue, during which time many progressive changes to the complex have been made.
Fletcher will be working hard over the next 12 weeks to ensure that the foundations are in place for his incumbent to take over the reins, and is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life.
“It’s definitely with a tinge of sadness that I have handed in my resignation, but after a decade of commitment and service, it’s the right time to move on,” he said. “There is so much that I want to do and experience, and I’m at a point in my life where I feel the time is right to go and do it.
“I have had the pleasure of helping the facility to grow tremendously over the past 10 years, and I will certainly be offering my input as to how that can continue over the next 10 years. I would just like to say a huge thank-you to all the staff over the years at both the complex, and MV, whose hard work and efforts have made my time here that much more enjoyable.”
Over the next 12-week period, the MV Board will be addressing ongoing issues surrounding the strategic development of the iconic facility.
An advertisement and position description for Fletcher’s replacement will be released shortly.
