Australian Aaron Gobert will contest the FIM e-Power International Championship at this weekend’s U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca in the United States.
Former AMA Superstock Champion Gobert will be riding the Brammo Empulse RR race bike, which is a purpose-built, race-ready version of the recently announced Brammo Empulse – featuring Brammo Power™ and Brammo Digital Powertain™ technology.
“I had the opportunity to test with Brammo in 2009 and really enjoyed my time on the TTR race bike,” Gobert commented.
“Motorcycle racing is my passion and here’s an opportunity to experience a new chapter in bike racing and participate at the ground level in a branch of the sport that is almost certainly going to have an increasing impact on motorcycle racing in the future.”
Gobert has previously finished on the podium multiple times at Laguna Seca in the AMA Supersport and Formula Xtreme categories respectively. He currently sits sixth in the Australian Supersport Championship after three rounds with Gobert Motorsports onboard a Yamaha Motor Australia-supported YZF-R6.
The e-Power round at Laguna Seca was a late addition to the calendar, with the MotoCzysz E1pc Isle of Man TT Zero-winning bike also one of the pre-race favourites. Other e-Power rounds will be contested in September at the Bol d’Or 24-Hour Endurance World Championship round at Magny Cours in France, as well as the Imola Superbike World Championship round in Italy.
