MX3 front-runner sidelined following dislocated shoulder.
MX3 contender Koby Hantis is facing a race against time to be recovered for the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship opener at Wonthaggi after undergoing surgery to repair an injured shoulder.
Entering his second season with WBR Yamaha, Hantis – who was P2 in the MX3 standings last year – is among the favourites to win the development category this season.
“Not the way I wanted to start the season, but unfortunately it’s part of our sport,” said Hantis. “I had a big one last Monday and dislocated my shoulder, had surgery on Friday with Steve Andrews. Massive thanks to him and Sally for getting it all back to normal.
“Also a huge thanks to Ford Dale and all the boys for looking after me and your well wishes. On the mend now and will be back soon!”
With the extent of the injury still unknown and the Wonthaggi ProMX 2025 season-opener scheduled for March 22-23, there’s no confirmed timeline for Hantis’ return just yet.
