A thumb injury will delay Reid Taylor’s Monster Energy Supercross debut with ClubMX Yamaha, which was originally scheduled for Tampa’s 250SX East season-opener.

Taylor – who was called in as a replacement rider for Devin Simonson – made the move to the US late in December to join the eastern regional squad alongside Max Vohland and Mark Fineis.

“I’m really bummed I won’t be lining up in Tampa this weekend due to a thumb injury I sustained while training,” said the 21-year-old.

“I’m putting in the work to recover quickly and can’t wait to get back to racing supercross as soon as possible. A huge thanks to Brandon [Haas], Mike [Bonacci], and the ClubMX team for all their support during this time!”

While it is has been suggested that the Australian has returned home for surgery on the injury, a timeline for the Taylor’s return to competition is yet to be confirmed.
