Team rosters are firming ahead of this weekend’s 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) at Matterley Basin between October 4-6.

Defending champions Team France are set to return with the same line-up that brought them the Chamberlain Trophy in 2023, with Romain Febvre, Maxime Renaux and Tom Vialle named as their three-rider line-up.

After finishing runner-up one year ago, Team Australia is back with a formidable group as brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence are joined by recently-crowned national ProMX MX1 champion Kyle Webster, who will revert to a CRF250R – equipped with a US-specification factory bike – as the MX2 entry.

Last year’s third-place finishers, the Italian team, now feature the same riders as 2023, set to include Andrea Adamo alongside Andrea Bonacorsi and Alberto Forato, who has been called in after Mattia Guadagnini was injured at the final round of MXGP.

With a series of late changes made to Team USA, firstly with Chance Hymas being replaced by Cooper Webb, and then later by Eli Tomac being named as a late replacement for Chase Sexton, it will be only Aaron Plessinger who remains in place. The Americans finished eighth last year, with only Plessinger remaining following a strong Pro Motocross campaign this season.

The Netherlands team has Jeffrey Herlings, new MX2 world champion Kay de Wolf and Glenn Coldenhoff, while a shuffle at Belgium will see Lucas Coenen now in the MX2 seat, set to be joined by Jago Geerts and the experienced Brent Van Doninck. Initial team riders Sacha Coenen and Liam Everts have both been struck by injury.

Team New Zealand initially named ProMX regular Nathan Crawford as part of its effort, although injury has seen Canada-based Josiah Natzke drafted in alongside Kiwi championship winner Hamish Harwood and Australian MX2 champion Brodie Connolly.

A selection of championship-calibre riders will be on track representing, from two-time MXGP world champion Jorge Prado (Spain), to title rival Tim Gajser (Slovenia) and Ken Roczen (Germany). High-profile British rider Max Anstie will headline the home team, to be joined by Tommy Searle and Conrad Mewse.

In all, there are eight riders who have achieved overall Nations victories at MXoN – Max Nagl and Roczen in 2012, Herlings and Coldenhoff in 2019, Tomac in 2022, Vialle and Renaux in 2023, as well as Febvre in 2015, 2016 and 2023.
