ASBK: GAS Honda Racing teams up with Demolition Plus

Winzer, Maxwell and Parry will team up for season 2010.

Winzer, Maxwell and Parry will team up for season 2010.

Following on from a successful partnership at The Bel Ray 6 Hour race last November, Demolition Plus has confirmed their support of GAS Honda Racing in this year’s Australian Superbike Championships.

Fielding current series number three Wayne Maxwell in season 2010, GAS Racing team manager Geoff Winzer and Demolition Plus managing director Richard Parry met this week at a two day Phillip Island test session, where Maxwell again continued his pre-season form in the CBR1000RR.

“The bike is not quite complete yet as we are awaiting more stickers, but it is really starting to look good,” Winzer said. “GAS Honda Racing is very happy to have Demolition Plus on board for the 2010 ASBK. With their help we put together the winning Honda CBR1000RR at the Belray 6 hour at Oran Park so we are hoping to keep on with our winning ways. The sessions at the Island this week went really well. Wayne is right on pace and is definitely going to be in a podium position if not first come race time.”

Parry said he is thrilled with the opportunity to be title sponsor for GAS Honda Racing.

“Demolition Plus has a long history and a strong affiliation with the motorcycling community in Australia. We wanted to get behind the GAS Honda Racing team and Wayne Maxwell as Geoff Winzer has proved himself time and again as a very professional team manager. A large number of our clients are already fans of motorcycling and we see this as a great opportunity to engage them, and to attract further interest in our business from new clients as well.”

Richard will also be riding this year as part of the Demolition Plus GAS Honda Racing Team, moving up from the Superstock 600 to the Superstock 1000 C and D grade class, after a spill last August saw him sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The team will make its debut in the support races at the Phillip Island round of World Superbikes on 26-28 February.
