Updates made to current generation YZ450F and YZ250F models.
Yamaha has released a first look at its 2025 line of YZ motocross models, including developments to the YZ450F and YZ250F, along with new Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Editions.
The current generation YZ450F was initially released in 2023, followed by the revamped YZ250F to match for 2024, and Yamaha has once again further refined that base for improved performance on track.
Combined updates to Yamaha’s YZ450F and YZ250F models include revised suspension, with an updated rear linkage, new settings front and rear, along with a lighter spring rate on rear shock, and new delta-shaped piston shims in the fork for enhanced stability, traction and a more planted front-end feel.
A new handlebar switchbox incorporates an updated ribbed design for more practicality, plus the throttle tube has increased the spacing between the grip and housing assembly. In addition, the footpeg bracket design is lighter with a revised shape to enhance rider ergonomics.
Specific updates on the YZ450F include updated engine mounts to complement the suspension package, improving chassis compliance and enhancing stability, while a new clutch design increases lubrication and enhances cooling efficiency.
The traditional Team Yamaha Blue models are due to begin arriving in dealers from this August, when the 2025 Yamaha YZ450F will retail for $15,399.00 and the YZ250F at $14,249.00. Following that, the 2025 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Editions will arrive in September – with the YZ450F priced at $15,499.00 and the YZ250F $14,349.00 RRP.
