Fellow international Semmens to defend title at 2024 edition.
ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing has drafted in Jack Simpson for the 2024 Penrite Hattah Desert Race, the US-based contender returning to Australia for the prestigious off-road event on 5-7 July.
Simpson, a former national motocross and supercross contender turned off-road racer, is part of the Purvines Racing Yamaha team in America, which he captured the 2023 WORCS Pro 250 championship with.
It’s a prime opportunity for Simpson upon return to Australia as part of the official Yamaha team, to be teamed with Cooper Sheidow in the Pro class at Hattah, while ShopYamaha regular Will Dennett is lining up in the Under 19s category.
Simpson returned home last year for the Hattah event, finishing runner-up to fellow US-based international Mason Semmens (KTM), who is also set to defend his title at the 2024 edition.
This year’s event will also see the return of three-time winner Daniel Milner (DM31 Racing KTM), while Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing Dakar contender and former Hattah winner Daniel Sanders has also been named on the entry list.
