Freestyle Motocross sensation Cam Sinclair is back riding again in preparation for a huge year on the world FMX scene, only seven months after nearly losing his life.
Sinclair under rotated a double backflip in Spain last July, and has since been on an intensive training regime to rebuild his strength in preparation for his world-wide FMX comeback.
Despite doctors predicting it would take up to 12 months for Sinclair to recover if at all, the crash has not damaged his will to ride and perform at the highest level.
“The accident in Madrid has only made me stronger and more determined to achieve my goals. I actually feel like my tricks are bigger and better than they were before the crash,” Sinclair said.
Not only has Sinclair defied all odds by returning to FMX, he has confirmed he will once again attempt to master what is arguably the most dangerous stunt in action sport, the double backflip.
“I have no doubt that I can land the double backflip again – I have watched the footage from Madrid (Spain) over and over again, I know what went wrong. I just can’t wait to start working on them again in the foam pit and take it to dirt soon – its just something I have to do.”
Sinclair has always been known for his talent on a motorcycle, however his focus and determination in returning to the sport he loves so much has been nothing short of inspirational. His confirmed schedule for 2010 includes performing in the ever popular Crusty Demons ‘Beyond the Apocalypse’ Tour and also the all new Nitro Circus Live Tour with action sports icon Travis Pastrana.
Sinclair plans to compete in selected rounds of the Red Bull X Fighters and achieve his life long dream of an X Games gold medal in August.
“More than anything I want that X Games medal,” he said. “I’ll do anything and everything I have to do to make 2010 my year!”
