Honda Racing has signed Alex Larwood for the 2024 season, the latest addition to an expanded roster and focused on the MX2 championship.

After winning the past three Penrite ProMX Championship titles in the 250 class with Kyle Webster and Wilson Todd, 18-year-old Larwood joins Noah Ferguson and Brodie Connolly – who was initially due to head to the US – for next year.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to ride for Honda,” Larwood said. “I understand what they can do and securing this ride lifts my confidence – they wouldn’t have chosen me if they didn’t believe in my potential.

“The past three years have been a disaster for me, injury after injury. The team and I have a plan, and I need to be there, standing on the top step at the end of the season, so we will race smart, patiently, and be there in the end.”

Larwood has been struck by injuries in recent seasons – undergoing shoulder reconstructions in 2022 and 2023 – as part of the Yamalube Yamaha Racing team, but has continued to display front-running potential when on-track at the national level.

With Larwood, Ferguson and Connolly in the MX2 program, it will be Webster and Todd who lead the Honda Racing charge outdoors in MX1. The team has also confirmed that Charli Cannon will lead its MXW line-up for 2024.
