Queenslander Noah Ferguson’s signing has been made official at Honda Racing for 2024, transferring from GasGas for the new year to the MX2 championship-winning team.

Ferguson, 22, has been linked to Honda through much of the domestic silly season and will form part of the roster tasked with continuing Honda’s dominant title run as Wilson Todd steps up to MX1 full-time.

“I’ve been chasing the Hondas for the past few seasons, well aware of what their bikes can do,” Ferguson said. “The team’s impressive track record in securing championships and extracting the best from their riders is a testament to the team. I’m genuinely excited about the potential we can achieve as a team together.”

Honda Racing team manager Mark Sladek added: “We were aware that Wilson Todd was moving up to the 450 class, and our goal was to sign someone capable of contending for the championship. Noah has demonstrated his ability to race at the forefront and outperform the competition in qualifying and racing. We are eager to support him in reaching his full potential.”

Ferguson finished fifth in the 2023 Penrite ProMX Championship’s MX2 standings with multiple podiums to his credit, including at Coolum’s final round of the season, despite injury setbacks affecting his campaign. It’s already been announced that MX3 champion Byron Dennis will be at the GasGas Racing Team in place of Ferguson.
