A new addition to the 2024 Penrite ProMX Championship has been announced, as Horsham will host round two next season on 7 April.

It marks a national motocross return to the venue after a seven-year absence, and the first time the championship has visited the 1.7km layout since being rebranded ProMX.

“I am thrilled that ProMX is making its first visit to Horsham in 2024,” said Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle. “The town and its environs have always been huge motocross supporters, and I know the event will not only be superbly executed but the spectators will come out in their masses to support the event.

“The 2018 Junior Motocross World Championship was a real showcase for what Horsham can deliver, and the new association with ProMX is another feather in its cap. Delivering such amazing events doesn’t happen in a vacuum, however, and the support from the Horsham Rural City Council will help us to deliver a truly magnificent event.”

The event will be run by the Horsham Motorcycle Club, as it continues to work to raise the profile of motocross in the Wimmera region. Current champions Dean Ferris (MX1) and Wilson Todd (MX2) were the last winners there in 2017.

Horsham marks the next piece of the eight-round 2023 Penrite ProMX calendar to be unveiled, with Wonthaggi to host the 2024 season-opener on 17 March.
