Rounds nine and 10 of 2023 championship complete in NSW.
Kyogle marked the penultimate stop of the 2023 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC), with the action continuing to heat up at the business-end of the season.
In E1, ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing’s Kyron Bacon set the benchmark on both days, with Korey McMahon (GasGas) and Cooper Sheidow (Yamaha) featuring in positions two and three for each round.
Jonte Reynders (Sherco) was the one to beat in E2, going 1-1 across the weekend to lead Josh Green (ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing) and Andy Wilksch (KTM) for both rounds nine and 10.
The E3 category saw Husqvarna-mounted Stefan Granquist take the top spot honours on Saturday, with Riley McGillivray (KTM) and Sam Pretscherer (Simford Motorsport Group) completing the podium. McGillivray elevated to the top position on Sunday, ahead of Granquist and Pretscherer in positions two and three.
Yamaha JGR Ballard’s Off-Road Team’s Jess Gardiner set the EW standard as she swept the category in Kyogle, finishing in front of Ebony Nielsen (Beta) and Emelie Karlsson (Husqvarna) at round nine. For round 10, Karlsson was able to improve to second, while Nielsen rounded out the podium places.
Charging to a class victory on both days in New South Wales, Yamaha-equipped Will Dennett led the way in EJ, followed by Billy Hargy and Jett Yarnold for the ninth and 10th rounds.
The Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship now moves to Dungog, NSW, for its final rounds of the 2023 season between 14-15 October.
