Livery based upon Mike Brown’s AMA outdoor title-winning KX.
With the retro round of the Penrite ProMX set to take place this weekend in Toowoomba, Empire Kawasaki has unveiled a 2001 Mike Brown Pro Circuit Kawasaki-inspired livery for the sixth round of the series.
MX2 rider Haruki Yokoyama currently sits 11th in the championship points standings as he continues to build his way up to speed following some pre-season injuries, while MX3 teammate Cambell Williams has moved his way up to fourth in the standings.
“With Cambell, he is progressing every round and has been on the podium a lot of the time,” said Empire Kawasaki team owner Tyson Cherry. “Unfortunately, at the last round he got docked a couple of points which pushed him back, but now we just want him to stay in the hunt for a podium at the end of the year – his goal is to win as many races as he can and keep moving forward.
“For Haruki, it’s just trying to keep him in the top 10, get some top fives. He has had a bit of a slow start to the year, but I think he is starting to come good, so we’ll see if he can progress, get some more confidence and some better starts. We’re really excited to launch the retro round look and hope that we can enjoy the same type of winning success that it achieved over two decades ago!”
