Sitting out Toowoomba's sixth round of the 2023 season this Sunday.
Australian MX2 front-runner Jesse Dobson will be absent from Toowoomba’s sixth round of the 2023 Penrite ProMX Championship this weekend after announcing he is under investigation from Sports Integrity Australia (SIA).
Information remains limited, however, the 26-year-old Serco Yamaha rider personally confirmed late this afternoon that he has been ruled out while being investigated.
“I would like this to come from me, so I am just here to touch on my current situation,” explained Dobson via social media. “Unfortunately, I am currently being investigated by Sports Integrity Australia and therefore will not be able to line up this weekend.
“No one is more disappointed than I am, and I am doing everything I can to cooperate with them to get this sorted as soon as possible. I apologise to my team and sponsors for this current inconvenience and cannot wait until I can line back up again.”
Sports Integrity Australia was formed in 2020, combining the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA), the National Integrity of Sport Unit and the integrity functions of Sport Australia.
After finishing P4 in last year’s championship, Dobson is currently fifth in the MX2 point-standings following five of eight rounds. Motorcycling Australia (MA) or SIA are yet to release any form of official statement.
