Official team deal following the injuries of Larwood and Cosford.
Queenslander Kaleb Barham has been drafted into Yamalube Yamaha Racing for the remainder of the 2023 Penrite ProMX Championship and the Australian Supercross Championship.
Barham has been a mainstay onboard Husqvarna machinery for much of his pro-level career, but has been drafted in following injuries to Alex Larwood and Jayce Cosford.
“While it’s not the best way to get a ride with a team and I wish both Alex and Jayce a quick recovery, I’m pumped to get the chance to ride with the Yamalube Yamaha Team and work alongside them for the ProMX and ASX,” Barham commented.
“I have had a few days on the bike and it’s been an easy transition. Within a moto I was feeling good and the team got it dialled in quickly, so I’m ready to go for Gilman. My goal is to keep improving and with the assistance of the team, hope to take my racing to another level.”
Currently ninth in the MX2 standings, Barham has consistently been one of the most highly-rated privateers at the national level, rewarded for his commitment with an extended deal on the official Yamaha Motor Australia-backed team.
