Honda Racing’s Dean Ferris has confirmed that 2022 is his final season in the Penrite ProMX Championship, drawing a close to his successful full-time racing career.

Ferris came out of retirement to compete in the entire ProMX championship this season, following serious injuries sustained at Conondale, roughly two years ago.

“Two years ago I felt like I was forced to retire after an injury I didn’t know if I would ever recover from,” Ferris shared. “When I realised I could, I made the decision to return to racing so I could rebuild my body to full strength and show myself that I can still run at the top of Australian motocross.

“It’s been a long season with many highs and lows, but I’ve done it. I’ve returned to the Top of my game, Won many Motos and put myself in a position to fight for the MX1 Championship this weekend.”

The number 111 currently sits second in the MX1 standings, 24 points from red plate-holder Aaron Tanti, and has won more premier class motos to date than any other rider in this year’s series.
