EnduroGP newcomer Daniel Milner was injured at round six of the 2022 EnduroGP World Championship in Hungary and is set to get further scans on a broken wrist throughout the week.

The Fantic rider finished day one in Zalaegerszeg third in Enduro1 (E1), before disaster struck in stage two, bringing a halt to Milner’s charge.

“Seems to be one step forward and two steps back this season, from mechanicals to now broken bones,” Milner shared. “Unfortunately yesterday I fractured a bone in my wrist/hand in the first enduro test. Charged into a corner and hit a braking bump that was deeper than I thought, breaking my wrist on impact and causing my hand to blow off the bars.

“I tried to continue with the lap telling myself that there was no way I have done anything bad from just that, but unfortunately had no strength to hold on.

“I knew it was time to finish my day early after I collapsed onto my bars on the tyres in the extreme test, causing me to have a decent crash. I will get some more scans this week to find out more as the translation in a dodgy little hospital wasn’t all that good. Thanks to everyone for supporting me and keeping me going.”

Milner reignited his international career this season with Fantic Motor following his off-road racing success after his return to Australia in 2017.

The multi-time off-road champion commenced this year’s EnduroGP competing in E2 on 450cc machinery, before making the switch to E1 on a 250 from the third round in Italy. He scored a podium in class at the Italian GP and notched a breakthrough outright EnduroGP podium at round four in Portugal when he was third on day one.
