The fields are set for the fourth round of the 2022 ProMX Championship.
CDR Yamaha Monster Energy Racing Team’s Aaron Tanti and Terrafirma Equipment Sales Honda’s Wilson Todd have set the early pace at the fourth round of the Australian ProMX Championship at Gillman, by qualifying fastest in the MX1 and MX2 classes respectively.
Aaron Tanti was in a league of his own in the Top 10 Shootout with a 2m01.606 lap-time that was almost a second faster than his nearest rival, Brett Metcalfe (GO24 Racing), who logged a 2m02.453s laptime. Tanti also topped the first qualifying session.
Kirk Gibbs (KTM Racing Team) had a good showing with third-fastest, ahead of current points’ leader Todd Waters (Husqvarna Racing Team) who crashed midway through the session while on a fast lap.
Round 3 winner, Dean Ferris (Honda Racing), finished the session in fifth place.
GasGas Racing Team’s Hayden Mellross, and Empire Kawasaki’s Jayden Rykers finished sixth and seventh, ahead of privateers Joel Evans (Honda), Levi McManus (Honda) and Mitchell Norris (GasGas).
Wilson Todd set a searing benchmark in qualifying, with his 2m01.099s lap-time two seconds faster than GasGas-supported racer Noah Ferguson’s 2m03.117s, and the fastest time of both the MX1 and MX2 sessions.
Yamalube Yamaha Racing rider Rhys Budd clocked the third-fastest time, narrowly ahead of Serco Yamaha’s Jesse Dobson, who put ina hard charge late in the session.
Local racer Alex Larwood (Yamalube Yamaha Racing) rounded out the top five.
Ryder Kingsford (WBR Yamaha) finished sixth-fastest, ahead of team-mate Levi Rogers, Round 3 winner Bailey Malkiewicz (Serco Yamaha), Jai Constantinou (Empire Kawasaki) and Blake Fox (GasGas Racing Team).
