In the first episode of Albek’s three-part Road to Finke series with Jacob Smith, we visited the desert racer’s hometown and tagged along with him for a day to get an insight into what it’s like to live life as a full-time worker and part-time professional athlete. In this episode, Smith takes a day off from the family business and makes the trip to the coast to visit the Albek HQ in Newcastle for the first time, before heading up to Finke to do some final pre-running before the race.
