An encouraging podium performance at the 2021 Berry Sweet Manjimup 15,000 has signalled progression for Aaron Tanti, who’s suddenly bounced back into form after overcoming a wrist injury.

The GasGas Racing Team rider was forced to miss the opening round of the ProMX series after suffering a fractured wrist in the lead-up to Wonthaggi, limiting him to minimal seat time for round two in Canberra last month.

Following the postponement of Gillman, Tanti was a late addition to the star-studded Manjimup 15,000 field, where he rose to the occasion to finish third behind Regan Duffy (KTM Racing Team) and dominant winner Luke Clout (CDR Yamaha Monster Energy).

The prestigious event saw the MX1 rookie have a breakout performance to record an excellent 4-3-3-5 scorecard, offering a timely boost of confidence for the New South Welshman.

“I felt really good out there,” Tanti declared to MotoOnline.com.au. “Having that extra few weeks on the bike after Canberra and sorting everything out – you know, not getting blisters, my wrist is feeling a lot better, and then just having the bike time and getting a lot more comfortable.

“It showed a lot of difference, and I feel good – I still have a little bit to work on and I still feel a little bit behind, but speed-wise, I think I’m riding really well considering.

“It was like a mini national and it was probably only missing a couple of top guys, so to walk away in the top three was really cool and a good indicator of what to work towards for the next round.”

Tanti’s next appearance will be at Maitland’s ProMX round on 27 June in New South Wales.
