Jesse Dobsons 2019 Australian Supercross Championship campaign has come to an end prematurely, after a training incident has seen the MPE Husqvarna supported FC450 rider break his collarbone. Despite having to sit out the fourth round of the championship, Dobson was still hopeful of securing a spot in the top-ten of the SX1 class, reaffirming his position as Australia’s top motocross and supercross privateer of 2019.

Jesse Dobson: “I can’t explain how disappointed I am right now to not be racing this weekend. I’ve had the support of so many people and businesses to get to this point and I really feel like I’ve let them down. I’m confident in my ability, and I know that even with missing Auckland and sitting 13th in the championship, that I could’ve been in the top-ten, after the final round. It’s a huge effort to put these events on, as much as it is for us to go and race them, so I want to thank Troy Bayliss Events and AME for putting everything into each round and lifting the profile of the sport. I’ll be at Marvel Stadium this weekend to watch and support the event, it’s going to hurt not being out there, but I’ll use the time to heal, work on my plan to go racing in 2020. I’d really like to thank each and every partner I had in 2019 for their support through the year. From the Paul and the team at MPE Husqvarna for not only helping me get a bike to ride but the incredible amount of time and knowledge to give me a bike capable of competing with factory backed teams to the companies that gave me product, or bought me a flight, and of course, those that helped me financially. I can’t express my thanks enough for you all believing in me and supporting me in achieving my goals. And finally, to my family and Aidan, my mechanic. You’ve been behind me the entire time, through every up and down, and I think we proved already that a privateer can run with and beat the factory backed riders in Australia. We raced against some of the best and beat them, setting fast laps, and strong race results. I’m determined to go racing in 2020, and I’m hungry to win.”
