With an influx of international Supercross superstars – Jason Anderson, Chad Reed and Ricky Carmichael all choosing Dunlop – plus Luke Clout, Dan Reardon, Josh Hill, Richie Evans and, of course, Justin Brayton descending on Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland, the fourth round of the Australian Supercross Championship again saw Dunlop reign supreme, taking five of the top six spots and securing the top three championship positions.

It was a strong night for Dunlop, with all racers choosing the Dunlop Geomax MX33 pattern, taking the top five positions in Superpole and all three race wins on offer. Although the night belonged to Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson, it was Luke Clout, with a 4-1-4 result in the three-race format to secure second overall, who moved the CDR Yamaha racer into a narrow SX1 championship lead ahead of Honda’s Justin Brayton (3-4-5) and teammate Dan Reardon (5-7-2). A penalty saw Josh Hill take sixth overall, with 7-3-7, in an action-packed night of racing.

Once again, Yamalube Yamaha’s Jay Wilson has taken a race win. However it’s Serco’s Aaron Tanti who leads the way for Dunlop. Despite a crash in the opening stages of race one, it wasn’t enough to stop Tanti who pushed through for a podium and, ultimately, a consistent 3-4-2 result to retain third place in the championship, just seven points off the lead with a round remaining.

Dunlop Motorsport Manager, Robbie Bugden: “Despite being just five rounds, it’s a complex championship, with a mix of international and Australian-based racers, and not every rider in a position to race every round. While the international headliners all choose Dunlop, we’re proud to have championship hopes in the hands of local, homegrown racers too. We’ve seen two weekends with Justin Brayton uncharacteristically off the top step. Meanwhile, Luke Clout and Dan Reardon are consistently putting themselves in contention, accruing solid points. Add into the mix the likes of Anderson, and even Reed (despite having to sit out the finals this weekend), and it’s going to be an interesting finish to the season in Melbourne.”
