Raceline KTM Thor emerged successful from round one of the Australian Superceoss series tonight at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

On point from the beginning of the day, team mates Josh Osby and Regan Duffy qualified out of the afternoons timed sessions in 8th and 18th place respectively, on the extremely tight and demanding Brisbane track. Osby just eight tenths of a second off pole position, knew his weaknesses on the track to find more time and Duffy stuck to the plan he and the team had coming into his debut SX race, keeping things consistent and progressing to the nights racing program.

In heat race one, Osby would rocket out of the gate on his KTM SX250f, battling with Mitchell Oldenberg and Jay Wilson. Keeping the pair honest out front , Osby would ride to a solid third position and transfer directly to the evenings main event race. Regan Duffy just missed out on the direct transfer spot to the main event with an outstanding fifth position in his very first Supercross heat race.

Duffy now had to attempt to finish in the top two positions in the B final to transfer to the main event races. A great jump out of the gate saw Duffy run up front early in the B final, however a later incident with a few laps to go would relegate Duffy to the back of the field, ultimately finishing the B main in 20th position, his result not showing his speed or promise on track throughout the night.

Optimistic from tonight’s performance Duffy had this to say;

“Obviously tonight didn’t go to plan as far as the end result is concerned, however I showed good speed and was competitive in my first Supercross event. I learned every lap I was out there and had I have made it to 4th in the heat race I think my night would have been very different. I’m excited to see what we can do in Adelaide next weekend.”

Josh Osby was out on track next for the two main event final races in SX2. Osby pulled a massive hole shot in final one and lead every single lap en route to a convincing victory for the young American. With a two race format for the finals, Osby lined back up aiming to repeat race one’s result. However, Osby found himself in the early lap carnage of SX2’s second final, banging bars with Aaron Tanti and Jay Wilson all battling over third position. Osby, finishing the second main event in fifth position just missed the overall podium placings for round one.

“Obviously I’m a little frustrated after winning final one and then not being able to match that in the second final. But I’m happy with where the team and I are at after round one and I proved to everyone including myself that I have the speed to win. We have solid points and a great base for the season ahead”.

The Racine KTM Thor team now head to Gillman, SA for round two of the 2019 Australian Supercross series on Saturday October 19th.
