Penrite Honda Racing’s solo SX2 rider Bradley Taft has made it clear he seeks redemption in Adelaide this weekend at round 4 of the Australian Supercross Championship.

Expressing dis-satisfaction with his results thus far; it is clear he has set high standards for his performance and results while competing in Australia.

“Going into round 1, I was jetlagged and perhaps not sure what to expect and I didn’t capitalise on my early qualifying speed and ended up 2nd ,” Taft said.

Between round 1 and 2, Taft sustained a serious injury compounding his vertebras and fracturing some small bones; “Round 2 was a mess and it’s my fault, I should have seen a doctor straight after the crash but I thought it was just muscular damage. I definitely raced round 2 in pain.” Taft added.

After round 2 the team and Taft devised a plan and focused on winning round 3 but a crash on the final lap in the final race hindered that endeavour and Taft had to settle for 4 th overall.

“No one knows what we all put in, each and every rider, not just me.

We ride hurt, we ride through every condition imaginable and I was devastated after crashing in the final race. I knew where I had to finish and I messed up with a lap to go,” said Taft.

Taft and the team has regrouped and are focused on round 4. Yarrive Konsky the Team’s Director believes they can take a solid win in the SX2 and show the teams overall strength across both classes.

“Bradley has qualified 1st in two of three rounds, he has won heat races and proven he has the speed. We believe in him and together we will work on helping him achieve his goals,” said Konsky.
