Complete Parts Kawasaki Racing ace believes podium is in sight.
America import Jace Owen is excited for the Triple Crown main event format that will be hosted throughout the final rounds of the Australian Supercross Championship, starting this Saturday at Geelong in Victoria.
Despite a practice crash in the lead-up to last weekend’s second round in Coolum, the Complete Parts Kawasaki Racing rider prevailed with a fourth place finish, bettering his performance from the opening encounter of the season.
“Overall it was a pretty good day,” said Owen. “I was feeling really good throughout the three-week break, but I had a pretty big practice crash during the week. It put a dampener on things, and the weekend ended up being like round one – I just struggled to get going.
“I didn’t get the best start in the main, but I moved my way into fourth and that’s where I finished. I really believe I can get on the box moving forward, but these next races will be tight with the Triple Crown format. That will be exciting and you’ll have three chances to grab a main event win.”
Owen’s string of consistent results sees him positioned fourth in the championship standings with back to back rounds over the next two weekends, before the series wraps up with the prestigious Monster Energy AUS-X Open in Sydney on 11 November.
